How to remove a background

  1. Upload your imageDrag a file onto the stage above or click Upload. PNG, JPG, JPEG and SVG are accepted — an SVG is rasterised first so it can be cut out.
  2. The subject gets separatedThe foreground subject is detected and everything behind it is made transparent, including the soft edges around hair and thin detail.
  3. Download a transparent PNGToggle the compare control to check the cut-out against your original, then download a PNG with a real alpha channel.

Questions about removing backgrounds

A PNG with a transparent background. PNG is used rather than JPG because JPG has no alpha channel and would fill the transparency back in with white.
