CR3 to JPG converter

A free CR3 to JPG converter that also writes PNG and WebP, entirely in your browser. CR3 is what every Canon since the EOS R and the M50 writes, and it opens in even less software than CR2 did. This lifts out the full-size JPEG the camera already put inside the file and converts that — with the CR3 never leaving your machine.

JPG has no transparency, so transparent areas become white. Converted files don’t keep EXIF or color profile data.

Runs in your browser. Your files never leave your device.

How to convert a CR3

  1. Add your CR3 filesDrag them in or browse for them. A CR3 runs to tens of megabytes, and every one of them is read on your machine.
  2. Keep JPG, or pick PNG or WebPJPG is preselected for a shot from an EOS R or M-series body. PNG keeps the extracted image lossless; WebP makes it smallest.
  3. Convert and downloadEach CR3 is read by a reader of its own, which loads only when you drop one, and the full-size JPEG inside is re-encoded. A single file saves directly; a card's worth comes back as one ZIP.

Questions about converting CR3

The full-size one. A CR3 carries a smaller Canon preview — 1620 × 1080 on both bodies tested — and a full-size JPEG stored as a one-frame track inside the file. The converter takes the full-size image, keeps the smaller one only as a fallback, and does not develop the raw data itself.

One file is free. Four hundred, on brand, in every size, is what we do.
