GIF is capped at 256 colours per frame, which is why photographs saved as GIF look blotchy and banded. Convert a still GIF to a modern format here, in your browser.

Questions about converting GIF

You get the first frame only, as a still image. This converter draws each file to a canvas, and a canvas holds exactly one frame — so animation is not preserved and there is no way for it to be. If you need a moving result, convert to an animated format with a dedicated video or GIF tool instead.

One file is free. Four hundred, on brand, in every size, is what we do.
